Season 7 Incorporates Spray Foam Insulation into Design

Lapolla Industries, Inc. announced its commitment with "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" for the 2009-2010 Season 7. The Emmy award-winning television show will rely on Lapolla's energy-efficient spray foam insulation materials and coordinate Season 7 projects with local spray foam applicators.

"Spray foam insulation is an important component in new building construction and the weatherization of existing buildings," stated Doug Kramer, CEO and President of Lapolla. "We are honored to be the preferred spray foam insulation vendor to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and to support this great opportunity that assists so many deserving families."

Spray foam insulation is a spray-applied thermal insulation material used in wall cavities, floor assemblies, ceiling assemblies, and in attic and crawl space applications.  When properly installed, this advanced insulation system leads to energy efficiency, improved occupant comfort, a cleaner indoor environment, and greater noise reduction for building/home owners.

"The Extreme Makeover construction projects are examples of the momentum of focus on energy efficiency across the Nation," continued Mr. Kramer. "We insulated our first Extreme Makeover: Home Edition project last week in Pennsylvania.  We had the pleasure of working with good people that genuinely care about improving the quality of life for the family.  We are thrilled that Lapolla has an opportunity to contribute and make a real difference."

Welcome Home Hampton Family

On July 14, 2009,"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" traveled to Ash Grove, Missouri, to tell the eight members of the Hampton family - all living in a cramped one-bedroom, one-bath farmhouse - that they'll have a new home in seven days. The original family of four doubled in size not long ago after a fateful phone call from a social services agency. Chris and Niki Hampton were told they had just one hour to decide if they would take in their four nieces and nephews or let them go to foster care. Lapolla Industries, Inc. partnered with Insultech spray foam applicators to provide the spray foam material and labor needed to insulate the new 4,200 s.f. home. The conditioned attic and wall studs were completely filled with open-cell spray foam to optimize energy-efficiency and keep the energy costs to a minimum for this family. Welcome Home Mattingly Family

The Mattingly family lived in a small 700 square foot crumbling trailer. They could not afford to fix the home, which they also shared with their growing daughters, Alana, 12, and Madison, 11. The "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" design team planned a new 3,000 s.f. home with an 800 s.f. garage and called on Lapolla Industries and AirTight Licensed Applicators to give this family an energy efficient home through the utilization of spray foam insulation. To learn more about this project, visit: http://www.extremethompsonhomes.com

 Welcome Home Stott Family

Philip and Joey Stott and their children were selected as an Extreme Makeover: Home Edition family, following their nomination for the program by family friends. Their Illinois home included a barn, chicken coop, pig-pen, other out-buildings and a very old farmhouse with no insulation and 100-year-old wiring, all of which the family planned to update and improve over the coming years.
